Gas-Lab - Moods (Intrumental LP)

Last year, his Jazz Hop LP, produced with American MC Traum Diggs, was one of my favorite discoveries in the Hip-Hop/Beats space, and subsequently part of Vibes4YourSoul 2013 Favorites selection. Buenos-Aires-based beatmaker Gas-Lab is now back with another treat!

Moods is a soothing instrumental journey into the poetic musical world of this talented artist. From jazzy moments, to abstract atmospheres, this release spells c h i l l .

L'an passé son album Jazz Hop, produit avec le MC américain Traum Diggs, fut l'un de mes coups de coeur dans la catégorie Hip-Hop/Beats. Le disque figure d'ailleurs dans la sélection Vibes4YourSoul 2013 Favorites.
Le beatmaker argentin Gas-Lab est de retour avec d'autres surprises, en solo cette fois-ci. Recueil de titres intrumentaux, Moods est une balade apaisante dans l'univers zen de ce talentueux producteur, entre passages jazzy et atmosphères "abstract beats".

Gas-Lab & Traum Diggs - Jazz Hop LP

A few weeks ago I fell for Jazz Hop, a splendid jazzy hip-hop track from Argentinian beatmaker Gas-Lab and Brooklyn-based MC Traum Diggs. After this exciting starter, the duo is now back with a 3-stars main course, his debut mini-LP also titled Jazz Hop.

Get ready for some ultra smooth R&B-inspired beats, deep basslines, melancholic keyboard melodies and some absolutely superb english/spanish vocal  flows. Think Jay Dilla, think Common, think Guru's Jazzmatazz...you got it, this album easily gets my ballot to the all-star team.

Il y  a quelques semaines je tombais sous le charme de Jazz Hop, single magnifique du beatmaker argentin Gas-Lab et du MC new-yorkais Traum Diggs. Ce petit bijou n'était en fait qu'un amuse-bouche. Le duo est déjà de retour avec un plat de résistance 3 étoiles sous la forme d'un mini album du même nom.
Au menu, rythmiques super smooths façon R&B, lignes de basses finement ciselées, mélodies de claviers qui réchauffent, le tout relevé par un flow magique, aussi envoûtant en anglais qu'en espagnol.
Jay Dilla, Common, Guru's Jazzmatazz, ces références, qui me viennent immédiatement à l'esprit, vous sembleront peut-être ambitieuses...sans doute moins une fois que vous aurez dégusté ce disque.

I feel bad as I've been willing to mention Argentinian beatmaker Gas-Lab work for several months now...but I got jammed with other stuff and I simply forgot...until he hit me this week with this new phenomenal single in collaboration with American MC Traum Diggs and singer Natayla (and also with Jay Dilla or Guru's Jazzmatazz who are definitely somewhere in that one...).
