V4YS EP Review - Tuff Wheelz - About Her EP (Bmkltsch Records)

After the brillant So Strong / Come Together EP, that caught my attention last year, Bordeaux-based duo Tuff Wheelz are back with more powerful underground House vibes.

Out this week on Bmkltsch Records, the highly recommended About Her EP, blends some deep & heavy beats to bewitching keyboards and soulful vocals loops. Reminiscent of the traditional Chicago sound, these three tracks should cause some serious damage on good dancefloors.

Après l'excellent So Strong / Come Together EP, qui avait retenu mon attention l'an passé, le duo bordelais Tuff Wheelz est de retour avec une nouvelle salve d'underground House qui fait mouche.

Publié cette semaine sur le label Bmkltsch Records, le très recommandable About Her EP allie les puissantes lignes rythmiques à des nappes de synthé envoûtantes, le tout agrémenté de loops de vocals soulful juste comme il faut. Trois titres façon Chicago, qui devraient faire leur effet sur tout bon dancefloor qui se respecte.

V4YS EP Review - Tuff Wheelz - So Strong/Come Together EP (Demento Mori Records)

Still on the house side, catching up with some recent releases, here is a splendid EP coming from south-west of France.

Bordeaux-based DJs/producers duo Tuff Wheelz dropped this So Strong/Come Together EP last month on Danish label Demento Mori.

The two tracks wrap you up in an irresistible underground House world made of heavy beats, soulful vocals samples and groovy keyboards layers. Carrying also three remixes, this brillant release is somehow reminiscent of the recent productions of a certain Julio Bashmore....
Long live the true underground House !

Sorti le mois dernier sur le label danois Demento Mori, le maxi So Strong/Come Together EP du duo bordelais Tuff Wheelz est une ode à la House.
Les deux titres du maxis respirent l'excitante moiteur d'un dancefloor underground. Saturés de beats surpuissants, de samples vocaux soulful et de nappes de stynthé aussi planantes que groovy ils évoquent les récentes productions d'un certain Julio Bashmore, maître du genre actuellement. Un EP imparable !
